Founded in 1952, the Brevard Humane Society is the community’s oldest established animal welfare group.
Deeply rooted in Brevard, they have been a local leader in the “no kill” movement. Self-sustaining, they receive no support from tax dollars. All funding comes through donations, adoption fees, product sales at their “Low Cost” Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic, Molly Mutt Thrift Shops, Merritt Island Adoption Center, Rainbow Bridge Chapel & cremation services, fundraisers and other pet-related services.
The Brevard Humane Society cares for over 1,700 animals annually, finding ‘forever homes’ for more than 1,200 from its two Adoption Centers just last year. Grants from the endowment fund will be used to enrich the lives of the homeless animals in their care.
