Investing in Tomorrow’s Leaders

Helping someone achieve their potential is an experience you will treasure for your lifetime. We currently administer 9 scholarships and award funds through the generosity of individual donors and organizations who wanted to create a lasting impact. These funds provide deserving students with support toward achieving their educational and professional goals.

Each scholarship and award has a unique set of eligibility criteria, application processes, and deadlines, which you can view below.

The Community Foundation administers a college scholarship program that each year helps local students pursue their dreams and goals at colleges and universities.

Scholarships are awarded on a nondiscriminatory basis after careful review of eligible applications. Award recommendations are approved by the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors, and scholarship awards are paid directly to the educational institutions where successful candidates are enrolled in undergraduate programs. To qualify for a post-secondary scholarship, the school you attend must be an accredited institution.

Each scholarship has its own specific purpose and eligibility criteria. Please carefully review each scholarship to determine eligibility. Learn more and review scholarship eligibility and requirements here.

Nancy Baur Dillen, artist and retired Eastern Florida State College art professor, long dreamed of broadening opportunities for art educators to share, develop, and grow both as artists and as teachers, to better influence and inspire the skills, creativity, and techniques of budding young artists. She and her late husband, Rick, brought the dream to life by establishing the Nancy Baur Dillen Art Teacher Scholarship in 2015.

Annually, up to five art educators employed by Brevard County Public Schools are selected to receive scholarships for week-long workshops at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, a national art education center in Gatlinburg, TN.

The Skate to School Scholarship Fund was envisioned and created by Robert “Scooter” Newell to reward top skaters of local skate board competitions with college education scholarships. All charitable contributions to the Skate to School Scholarship Fund will be used to support the scholarship awards.

Skaters placing high enough in contests may earn a scholarship opportunity, which can be claimed and awarded upon graduation of high school or home school equivalent with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Students may accumulate multiple scholarship award opportunities from placing in multiple contests. Learn more.

The scholarships will be awarded to one or more students based on the skate contest guidelines and on satisfying the legal requirements of a competitive scholarship award process as established by the Community Foundation. The amount of each scholarship will be dependent upon the funds available. Eligible applicants will come from a broad pool of candidates and donors may not control the selection process. Each contest will be judged by at least 3 independent contest judges.

Students who graduate and do not enroll in post-secondary education or vocational training within one year after high school graduation will forfeit the opportunity to claim scholarship awards earned in the skate competition. Unclaimed scholarships awards will be retained by the Foundation and used for subsequent skate contest awards. Scholarship awards may only be used for tuition, books, tools, uniforms and other training-related expenses and on-campus room and board. The Foundation will also review and validate student claims for scholarship award distribution prior to final award. The scholarship will be paid directly to the educational institution.

The Community Foundation for Brevard stewards the James W. & Mary Alice Libby Scholarship Fund which benefits Brevard County students seeking an education at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.
