Grants

The Community Foundation makes both competitive and non-competitive grants.

Competitive grants are made through the Foundation’s grantmaking process. The grants are awarded on the basis of merit and compatibility with the goals of the foundation. Most require formal application and have a specified application process and deadline dates.

Non-competitive grants are made at the recommendation of various fund advisors or are designated by the donor when the fund was established.  Approximately 90% of the grant funds made by The Community Foundation are made through a donor advised process or are designated.  The donor advised process allows the donor or fund advisor to exercise their own discretion over the grants that are made.
